2020 IDPA National Championship Postal Match Held in Istanbul
Before the official establishment of UDPAS, the 2020 IDPA National Championship Postal Match was organized by our founding clubs, MFG Shooting Club and Down Zero Shooting Club TR (which was later renamed UDPAS by IDPA HQ in subsequent years). The match took place over two days, September 12 and 19, 2020, at Poligun and Poligon Club shooting ranges in Istanbul, and consisted of 5 official stages.
The match was directed by Özcan Ceylan and Faruk Gazioğlu, and a total of 18 competitors participated, completing the stages designed by IDPA Headquarters.
The overall match winner was Özcan Ceylan, competing in the Carry Optics - Sharpshooter division.
This Postal Match marked a significant milestone in the development of dynamic and practical shooting sports in Turkey. At the time, the highest classification level achieved by Turkish competitors in IDPA was Sharpshooter. Today, our club proudly includes Master-level shooters who have achieved podium finishes in various competitions across Europe steadily progressing toward our goals with determination and consistency.
